History of the Booth Insurance Agency
Talmadge E. Booth, graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1950 and established the Booth Insurance Agency in Longview, Texas. His brother Edwin became a partner the next year. In 1963, Talmadge became the first Charter Property Casualty Underwriter in Longview. Over the following years, Booth Insurance Agency became known for quality service in the commercial and personal lines insurance. Edwin retired in 1981 and Talmadge’s son, Lee joined the family business. Lee became part owner in 1987.
Talmadge retired in 1994 and Lee purchased the agency from his father. Talmadge enjoyed retirement |
for a number of years but passed away in January 2006. That same month, Adam, Lee’s eldest son, joined the agency making him the third generation of Booth’s to work in the agency. Booth Insurance Agency, Inc. has continued it’s commitment to serve the commercial and personal needs of Longview and East Texas communities.
